Dear Stratton Families,

Welcome to spring. Our final quarter of this school year is in full bloom. Please see the calendar on our Stratton web page for all of the end of year activities that we have planned. Our dedicated students are getting ready for their next grade level by covering 4th quarter standards. It’s amaz-ing to watch our children grow academically and socially. Kuddos to all for embracing educa-tion.

Our Capturing Kids Hearts initiative is joyful! It's wonderful to hear all of the Good Things that students share with their classmates. Our Stallion Stampede on Monday mornings is filled with enthusiasm. Many students are getting an opportunity to be on stage with announcements and presentations. What does your child like best about CKH?

In an effort to provide your child a wonderful learning environment for next year, we welcome your input in our decision making for class placement. There are purple Parent Information Forms for the 2019/2020 school year available in the office. The form will not be treated as a guarantee for class placement but will give us your thoughts regarding your child. Every staff member has strengths which help meet the many and varied needs of our Stratton students. We appreciate your support and your trust in the professional decisions we make. Please return this form to the office by April 26, 2019.

The month of April is when we finish all state and district assessments. DIBELS Next is an assess-ment completed by kindergarteners through 3rd graders. The computerized CMAS assessments for 3rd through 5th graders start next week. Please do not schedule any appointments during your child’s CMAS testing times. When we receive the results back from the assessments, the Stratton staff members identify strengths and weaknesses in our instruction and adjust accord-ingly.

If your child will not be joining us next school year, please let Mrs. Kathy Gunty know immediate-ly. We have many students who want to join the Stratton learning community. Knowing about any opening is helpful for future planning. Thank you for the word-of-mouth referrals to Stratton. Most of our interested families have heard about Stratton from current satisfied Stratton folks.

Thank you to all of our Volunteers for the many hours of time you have given to Stratton. We are blessed to have you and your valuable time.

Yours in learning,

Julie Edner

SECURITY ~ PARKING ~ CONTACTS~ PLAYING AFTER SCHOOL

Security ~ It is important to be extra vigilant when entering the school. Please state your name after you ring the front door-bell. Do not let anyone follow you into the building. Always check in at the office and get a visitor badge if you plan to stay.

Parking & the Kiss & Go Lane ~ 75% of Stratton students are on choice permits. Drop off and pick up times are very busy. Please adhere to the following:

*Do not park in the “Kiss and Go” outer lane. Pull over to the curb to let your child in or out of the

car. Have your child exit from the passenger side door.

*Do not leave your car unattended in the ‘Kiss and Go’ lane.

*Please do not park at the entrance of the driveway by the red cones. Drivers need room to pull

into the driveway. Always use the cross walks. We want our students to develop safe habits and

they learn from everyone they see.

Contacts ~Children may only be picked up by people on the emergency contact list. Check on Parent Connect in Q connec-tions to see your current list of contacts. Please see Mrs. Gunty in the front office to make any changes.

Playing after School~ The playgrounds and restrooms are available for students after school with parent supervision.

Dear District Eleven Community!

We are happy to announce the Summer Enrichment Series (SES)

Details regarding the dates, times, site locations, meals, transportation, and course

descriptions for each site are available by accessing the District Eleven homepage at www.d11.org/ses and clicking on the Summer Enrichment Series link.
