We love our Spark parents and families!!The decision to enroll at Spark Online Academy requires a big commitment for both the student and the family.
There are many opportunities for involvement from in-person and online learning support, to participation in our School Accountability Committee or PTA.
Students who experience the most success, have an adult at home who is willing and able to support their child as needed. Younger students, of course, need higher degrees of supervision and support from parents/guardians in their learning day.
Since the learning environment is under the control of the students and their families, it is the responsibility of the family to support the redirection of their students if they are distracted or off-task, support students in staying on their daily schedule, and support them if the student is experiencing technical or access issues. Much like a classroom teacher would be doing in an in-person classroom monitoring student work.
Spark Online Academy places high value on family engagement and involvement. In fact, our student’s success relies a great deal upon a strong partnership with parent(s)/guardians to provide wrap-around support needed for your child to succeed in an online learning model.
Working together, our families will provide feedback and perspective to assist the teachers and the school in designing learning experiences and support that are personalized to your child’s strengths, needs, and interests.
Regular opportunities for family engagement include feedback surveys, parent/ teacher/ student organizations, school accountability committee, and learning and growing alongside us with workshops on relevant topics such as mental health, student engagement in online learning, and how to provide a learning environment to optimize student success.
