Una Celebracion de Cinco de Mayo

This week Rogers elementary celebrated Cinco de Mayo with festivities throughout the school.  Students did special projects in their class, which included making maracas. In the cafeteria the day was celebrated with churros.  Finally, we were visited by dancers who were high school students at Palmer High School.   The dancers wore traditional costumes and presented a few dances.  One of those was called "cumbia."  They also danced with some of the students.  The fourth and fifth graders learned steps to the Mexican Hat dance and performed it with the dancers.  It was a fun day for everyone.
