Mann Middle School in Colorado Springs has been a fixture of the city's northeast side since the mid-20th century. Originally known as Horace Mann Junior High, the school was established as part of the post-WWII expansion of Colorado Springs School District 11. 

Historical Timeline

• 1950s Origins: The school opened its doors during a period of rapid growth in Colorado Springs. Early records from the University of Colorado Archives list building projects and architectural records for the site at Templeton Gaps Rd. and Van Buren starting as early as 1937–1968.
• Junior High Era: For decades, it served as a traditional junior high (grades 7-9) before transitioning to the middle school model (grades 6-8) common today.
• Community Anchor: Built to serve the Cragmor neighborhood, it remains one of the more established middle school campuses in the district, known for its "Lancers" mascot and purple-and-white colors. [1, 2, 3, 4]
