Issue #14: May 11th - May 22nd

Celebrations and Looking Ahead

As we wrap up the final two weeks of school, we want to sincerely thank you for the opportunity to work with your students this year. We have been so impressed by their smarts, talents, and grit, and it has been a joy to watch their growth. These last weeks will include a balance of field trips, fun endโ€‘ofโ€‘year activities, and the completion of academic work as we prepare report cards. We appreciate your continued support in encouraging students to follow routines, stay focused, and do their best so they can experience maximum success during this exciting time. We’re also happy to share that IXL will remain available to all students over the summer to help them continue sharpening their skills—more information, including prize opportunities, will be coming soon! Please be sure to check the calendar below for all upcoming events and important dates.

Finally, we’d love to celebrate together as a Bulldog Community! Please join us for the annual Galileo Community Carnival this Thursday, May 14th, from 4:30–6:30 PM. Come enjoy food, games, prizes, and friendship—and feel free to bring your family, friends, and neighbors. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there as we celebrate another successful school year together!

With Appreciation,

The Galileo Staff

Student Name: _____________________________

Advisor Name: _____________________________

This contract outlines the expectations for student participation in the upcoming trip to ensure a safe, respectful, and successful experience for all students and staff. By signing below, students agree to the following terms:

1. Behavior Expectations Before and During the Trip:

I will be the best Bulldog I can be both before and during the trip. I will represent myself, my family, and my school in a positive and polite way.

I understand that all district and school policies are in effect on the trip and will follow them.

I understand that inappropriate behavior in class, at school, or out of school may result in disqualification.

I will be polite and show respect to ALL adults, peers, trip leaders, and members of the public.

I will stay in the group and bus that I am assigned to and follow all schedules, directives, and instructions.

I will NOT bring or use any prohibited items, including weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vapes of any kind. I understand that serious behavior violations may result in being sent home at my family’s expense and/or losing the privilege of attending continuation.

2. Attendance Requirements

I must have regular school attendance (+90%) from April 1  onwards. (Even if absences are excused, they may still  result in my being disqualified from the trip.)

I understand that unexcused tardies from April 1 onwards may result in my being disqualified from the trip.

3. Academic Requirements

I must maintain passing grades (D or above) in all classes and have a C in core classes.

If I fall significantly behind in schoolwork, I may be disqualified from the trip.

4. General Agreement

I will ensure that signed permission forms are submitted on time and that I will be ready to depart at _________a.m. the morning of the trip. I understand that if I am late, the buses will leave without me.

I understand that participation in the trip is a privilege, not a right and that I must meet requirements to attend.

I agree to follow all expectations and school rules established by trip organizers and chaperones, because I understand that directives will be focused on the safety of the entire group.

** I understand that participation on this trip is both a privilege and voluntary. I am willing to follow the requirements above. Finally, I understand that if I violate any of these expectations, I will be subject to district level disciplinary action.
