CMAS Update & Staying Strong Through Spring

We are officially halfway through our annual Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS)! Our students are doing a fantastic job staying focused, putting forth strong effort, and showing determination each day. The Galileo staff is incredibly proud of their hard work and the growth they continue to demonstrate.

Families can support students by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time each day. Encouraging a calm, positive attitude and reminding students to take their time, do their best, and use strategies they have learned can make a big difference. Your support in helping students be present, prepared, and confident is greatly appreciated as we work together to help them succeed.

As the end of the school year quickly approaches, there are many exciting field trips, activities, and celebrations on the horizon. Please be sure to review the calendar below for important upcoming dates. It is more important than ever for students to arrive to class on time, do their very best, and continue to show Bulldog pride in the hallways, classrooms, and during field trip experiences. Thank you for your continued support as we finish the year strong!

With Appreciation,

The Galileo Staff

Trip Date: May 21, 2026

Student Name: _____________________________

Advisor Name: _____________________________

This contract outlines the expectations for student participation in the upcoming trip to ensure a safe, respectful, and successful experience for all students and staff. By signing below, students agree to the following terms:

1. Behavior Expectations Before and During the Trip:

I will be the best Bulldog I can be both before and during the trip. I will represent myself, my family, and my school in a positive and polite way.

I understand that all district and school policies are in effect on the trip and will follow them.

I understand that inappropriate behavior in class, at school, or out of school may result in disqualification.

I will be polite and show respect to ALL adults, peers, trip leaders, and members of the public.

I will stay in the group and bus that I am assigned to and follow all schedules, directives, and instructions.

I will NOT bring or use any prohibited items, including weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vapes of any kind. I understand that serious behavior violations may result in being sent home at my family’s expense and/or losing the privilege of attending continuation.

2. Attendance Requirements

I must have regular school attendance (+90%) from April 1  onwards. (Even if absences are excused, they may still  result in my being disqualified from the trip.)

I understand that unexcused tardies from April 1 onwards may result in my being disqualified from the trip.

3. Academic Requirements

I must maintain passing grades (D or above) in all classes and have a C in core classes.

If I fall significantly behind in schoolwork, I may be disqualified from the trip.

4. General Agreement

I will ensure that signed permission forms are submitted on time and that I will be ready to depart at _________a.m. the morning of the trip. I understand that if I am late, the buses will leave without me.

I understand that participation in the trip is a privilege, not a right and that I must meet requirements to attend.

I agree to follow all expectations and school rules established by trip organizers and chaperones, because I understand that directives will be focused on the safety of the entire group.

** I understand that participation on this trip is both a privilege and voluntary. I am willing to follow the requirements above. Finally, I understand that if I violate any of these expectations, I will be subject to district level disciplinary action.
