Purple Star Proud!

Congratulations to Jenkins Middle School, Christa McAuliffe Elementary at Cimarron Hills, and James Irwin Charter Schools for being among the first in Colorado to earn the prestigious Purple Star School designation!

In a special ceremony on April 10th, Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Education Commissioner Susana Córdova honored 27 schools across the state for their exceptional efforts to support military-connected students and their families.

“Colorado is the proud home to a strong military and veteran community,” said Governor Polis. “I’m excited to celebrate the schools who are leading this work and setting an example for the rest of the state.”

This recognition, established through House Bill 24-1076, celebrates schools that go above and beyond to create welcoming, supportive environments for students navigating the unique challenges of military life.
