Opting In to Text Messaging for District 11 Staff

SchoolMessenger has replaced the D11 Loop as the system used to send mass emails, text messages, and phone calls for alerts, including snow day notifications.

Staff

To receive mass notifications sent to D11 Staff by text or phone, and to add additional email addresses, download the SchoolMessenger Home (SM Home) app or visit home.schoolmessenger.com  to update contact information and set your delivery preferences.

This step is optional. If you choose not to set add additional contact information in SchoolMessenger, you’ll receive messages sent to D11 Staff (including inclement weather alerts) in your District email, but you will not receive a text message.

Tip: The app offers extra benefits. In addition to text notifications, you can enable banner alerts for incoming messages and view a record of all past messages sent by email and text.

INSTRUCTIONS 

If you have a District issued IPHONE, you will find the SM Home app under the Self-Serve icon.

  • Click SIGN UP.
  • Enter your District email address, click United States, and then click Continue at the bottom.
  • Where it says to create a password, you are actually going to enter your current D11 password, twice.
    On the web version you'll enter your District email and Password on the same page and click Sign Up at the bottom
DO NOT CREATE A NEW PASSWORD. YOU MUST USE YOUR DISTRICT PASSWORD AND EMAIL.
  • Stop and check your District for a confirmation/verification email from PowerSchool. It may be in your "other" inbox.
  • The system will find you. Click Yes. If it doesn't find you, double check you used your current D11 email and password.
  • Click ALLOW to receive push messages.
  • Click My Profile.
  • Click Preferences.
  • Click ADD NEW+ and add as many phone numbers as you'd like to receive texts and/or phone calls.
  • Click the phone number(s) and select Call me and/or Send Text .
Note: D11 Inclement Weather Notices are sent as "Emergency" messages.

Step one download the app from the app or google play store
Step 2 create an account - click signup
Step 3 - enter your D11 email and click Continue
Step 4 - Enter your D11 password twice and click sign up
Step 5 - the system will find you. Click YES to continue.
Step 6 - Click allow notifications
Step 7 click My Profile in the lower right
Step 8 - click preferences
Step 9 - click add to add as many phone numbers as you'd like
Select your phone number and email and set what types of messages you want to receive using that method
