FIELD TRIPS Please be advised that, pursuant to Board of Education action on October 12, 2016, field trip policy IJOA and regulation IJOAR have been revised. Revisions in this policy and regulation will now reflect the following changes: 1. Standard and non-standard field trips no longer require review by Risk Related Activities. 2. Standard field trips do not need to be reviewed by the school’s area superintendent. The school principal’s signature authorizes the field trip to take place. 3. Non-standard field trips will continue to require signatures for approval by the school’s principal and area superintendent. 4. Only OUT-OF-COUNTRY field trips require the approval of the superintendent as well as the school’s principal and area superintendent. The superintendent’s approval is not required for other standard and non-standard field trips. Please advise the Risk Management team of any out-of-country field trips at least 3 months in advance.
