    Greetings!
    I am Mrs. Mary Manuel.

I was awarded my Masters degree of Music in Music Education from University of Northern Colorado in August 2011, during which I completed three levels of Orff Schulwerk. I received my undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, from Ohio Northern University in 2004.

I have a solid background in vocal and elementary music and I was actively a trumpet player through college.  I have experience teaching K-5 general music, children’s choir, 4-8th grade choir, 6-12 vocal music, 4-8 musical theater, and 4-6 strings. I enjoy teaching students life skills through a musical education.  Music education is amazingly rewarding: I love watching my students grow and I hope to create experiences that students will carry with them throughout their lifetimes.

No matter the age or skill level of my students, I find deep joy in watching them grow and experience music.

I believe all students deserve a complete music education through Orff Schulwerk, Social Emotional Learning, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and the Colorado Music Standards.

I believe that all students can sing with the right guidance through instruction and practice.

I believe in competency based grading to assess the necessary differentiation to fill in gaps in background knowledge.

In my experience, the key to teaching lies in the foundation of personal connection to students.  This leads to student trust and meaningful content that will become a true part of their skills in education.

I believe that each child’s education can be enhanced through musical experiences.

If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    Musically yours,

    Mrs. Mary Manuel
