Third Grade Educator

Katy Campbell is a proud D11 alumnus and is honored to continue serving the D11 community as an elementary teacher. In her years of teaching, she has had the pleasure of working with her own former teachers and a dozen of her friend’s kids.  Initially studying Asian Studies and Political Science in college, she later received her teaching certificate from UCCS. Most recently, she earned a Master’s degree in Education and Technology.  She brings global experience to the classroom, beginning her career in Korea as a tutor and as English as a Second Language teacher in Thailand.  Ms. Campbell, along with teachers across the globe, felt the challenges of teaching during the pandemic and realized we came out stronger as a result.  Authentic learning opportunities leading to long-lasting learning is her philosophy. Learning through games, projects, and working together in a student-centered environment is where the best learning takes place.  Ms. Campbell honors and respects her student’s diverse backgrounds and loves to stay in touch with parents and kids. She looks forward to a great year at Spark Online Academy.
