    Our Mission

    Through the completion of our diverse art program, Mitchell is focused on preparing art students to further their art education and artistic growth during their high school years; setting them on paths to continue artful endeavors beyond graduation.

    Offerings

    Mitchell currently offers courses in Painting, Ceramics, Drawing for Illustrators, and Intro to Visual Arts.  Upper level art students, Levels 3 and 4, also have opportunities to earn Honors Credits, if so desired.

  • About Mr. Owen

    After graduating high school in 1999, Mr. Owen studied Architecture at the NAAB Accredited, College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.  While in Architecture school at Kent, Mr. Owen took part in an international study which placed him in Florence, Italy.  While in Italy, he studied under Architect and Author, Andrea Ponsi, and Painter and Art Historian, Charles H. Cecil.  After a short-lived career in Architecture, Mr. Owen ended up back in the classroom; but this time as a teacher.  Mr. Owen has been a District 11 educator for over 13 years now and loves teaching young minds the artistic views and ideals he has gathered over the years.
