2021 SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

  • We are thrilled to announce School District 11 face-to-face summer bridge activities will be offered this summer! Summer bridge programs provide engaging activities to prepare students for maximum success the following school year. Research shows summer bridge programs can help prepare students for the upcoming school year. Due to the pandemic, the D11 summer bridge programs will be offered in an effort to prepare students for future learning. Summer bridge helps students succeed at all grade levels.

    • Dates: June 7 through July 2, 2021 (may be adjusted at specific schools due to scheduled facility work)
    • Programs may be half or full day depending on the school

Students will be invited to participate and most students will attend the program at their home school. Breakfast and lunch options will be provided at all participating schools. There are a few schools scheduled for summer facility projects, though, and they will not be able to participate. If your child attends a school that is not hosting Summer Bridge, contact the school to let them know that you are interested and available to enroll your child in the program. In mid-May, available spots at host schools will be filled with students from other schools and your child's school will contact you to let you know what options exist.

The 2021 summer bridge programs will aim to prepare students for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond by providing additional learning opportunities beyond the traditional school year. Using a balanced approach to learning including targeted intervention, enrichment, social emotional learning, and a variety of subject areas taught, students will be taught by licensed D11 teachers in a setting familiar to them.
