With a breathtaking view of Pikes Peak, Rudy Elementary is proudly located in a northeast neighborhood of Colorado Springs. Built in 1978, and named for the first woman principal in Colorado Springs, Anna M. Rudy Elementary offers personalized learning through high quality instruction and technology integration for preschool through 5th grade students. We prepare students to be creative, collaborative, innovative, and flexible learners to meet the demands of the 21st century.
Rudy has a solid reputation for high academic standards and achievement along with a safe and welcoming school environment. Complementing our academics, we offer Music, Art, Physical Education, Band and Orchestra. Gifted and Talented and Special Education programs are available for those who qualify. Additionally, we offer on-site daycare for before and after school, as well as many extended day opportunities for students to be involved: Student Council, Choir, Sports Challenge, Battle of the Books, Typing, Computer and Year Book Clubs. Our active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organizes school cultural and social events to involve our families and community.
Rudy embraces the Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) model. We have a safe, supportive and rigorous learning environment where students and staff are respectful, responsible, and resourceful community members.
Students may arrive 10 minutes early when there is supervision on the playground. When the first bell rings they are to line up by their classroom door and the teacher will greet them there. Students should not be in the building until the first bell rings.
