  • Mr. Garland earned his BA in Elementary Education at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota (1992).

    After graduation and getting married in Colorado, Mr. Garland taught 6th grade in Colorado School District 11 for eleven years.  While teaching Mr. Garland discovered that becoming a school counselor would help him better help young students and their families navigate life experiences.

    Mr. Garland studied and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado with a MA in school counseling (2002). 

    For the past 19 years, Mr. Garland served at Doherty High School as a school counselor, Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Teen Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

    Mr. Garland is a big fan of anything Disney, Mr. Rogers, family, mental wellness, podcast, camping, and movies.
