Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Sarah Ungstad
About me: I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I spent my childhood creating things like forts, props to play pretend with, and drawing my favorite characters. I became truly interested in art around the age of eight when I started obsessively drawing characters from a particular TV show. I moved to Colorado Springs in 1998 and finished my secondary education in D11. I knew I wanted to be an art teacher by my junior year in high school, so after visiting the couple of universities in the state that had an art education program, I chose Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I graduated with a BA in Art Education in 2009 and I have been working in D11 since 2010 and at Wilson since 2013. I have a hard time picking my favorite type of art because they all are so fun and challenging!
Parents: This teacher website is to allow you to have a fixed place to find your child’s art assignments during this distance learning period. Please have your child do two or more of the items on the weekly menu I will post. If they want to do more, create their own work, try out the different levels, or choose from the district’s choice board, be my guest. Assignments can be found when you click on Weekly Art Menu. I also understand that sometimes life gets crazy and you may not be able to get around to art. In order for me to be able to access your child’s work, I need pictures. Pictures can be sent through private messaging on ClassDojo or you can email them to me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Students: Each week, your art assignments will be posted on this site. Please make sure to visit regularly because your art may appear in the student gallery! I would love to see what you create, even if not from my menu or the choice board.
I love you all and miss your faces!
