I first became interested in being a teacher when I was in college working at a teen center for at-risk youth for the County of San Diego. I earned a Bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in Social Sciences to become a teacher.  The day after graduation I moved to Colorado to begin work on a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. While I was in grad school, I also began working on my teaching license and student teaching at Galileo School of Math and Science and Wasson High School.  I was fortunate enough for Galileo hired me after I completed school.  

I've been working at Galileo as a Social Studies teacher ever since 2010.  Once I was hired I started teaching 6th grade Social Studies. Now I teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies. 8th grade United States History is my favorite for sure! For the past two years I've been teaching an AVID elective class as well. This year my AVID students are a bunch of amazing 6th graders!
