Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Julie Foster

I am the Speech/Language Pathologist assigned to Madison Elementary and Galileo School of Math and Science.  I have been in District 11 since August 2002. Prior to moving to Colorado Springs, I lived in Wichita, Kansas.  I worked for 2 different school districts starting in 1991.   I received my bachelor's degree and master's degree at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

I am married to my wonderful husband who is a band director in District 11.  We have been married since 1987 and have one daughter.  Our daughter is married, a graduate of Wasson High School and works for District 11 as a sign language interpreter.  My husband and I have a dog named Maizie and a cat named Lucy.

I love to read and crochet.  In addition, I love watching sports especially football and hockey.  My favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys.  My favorite NHL team is the St. Louis Blues.  Of course, my favorite college team is the Wichita State Shockers. I love watching their basketball and baseball teams.  I am really glad that many of the Shocker games are televised.

Being able to help students learn to communicate more effectively and independently is my greatest joy in my job.
