Bachelors of Fine Arts Masters of Education: Curriculum Design and Instruction
Jillian Murphy is a 2003 graduate of the University of Colorado where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and in 2015 earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum Design and Instruction from CCU. She has been an art educator in D11 since 2013 and a teaching artist at Bemis School of Art at Colorado College since 2012. The emphasis of her personal artwork lies in the 3 dimensional world of mixed media and photography. Over the years she has used conceptual ideas and social issues as the motivation in her teachings; using aspects of art theory and art history as the cornerstone of her work and the work of her students. Jillian possesses a passion for community art and has been able to bring this passion to Columbia Elementary through annual community art projects where art education, art advocacy and community collaboration have provided many amazing opportunites for her students.
