  • PTA Family Game Night

Looking for a fun way to engage with your students and their family members? Do you enjoy Trivia, Uno, Yhatzee, Board Games, Dodgeball, or Basketball? Do you want to breakup the nightly home routine?

If any of those answers are yes, you should plan to attend the PTA Family Game Night from 5:30-8:00, on Thursday, October 13th. Bring your family and enjoy a pizza dinner anytime from 5:30-7:00 followed by the activity(ies) of your choice.

Or, can you give back to our very generous PTA by supporting one of the planned activities? Specific needs for support are below:

    1. Organize rounds of Dodgeball
    2. Organize games of pick-up Basketball
    3. Create and MC Trivia sessions
    4. Keep Uno decks, Card decks, and Board Games whole and intact

More details from the PTA organizers will be shared with the entire community later this week. If you can support the event, thank you! I will be coordinating your effort on their behalf, so just let me know if you plan to help with one of the four items above.

  • Dear Athlete and Parents:

Girls’ basketball tryouts begin Tuesday, October 18th.  We will do two cuts and strive to have the team picked by Friday, October 21st

Before trying out, each player must have on file:

    1.   An up-to-date physical form with parent permission and physician signature.

    2.   A blue emergency card.

Any student without these turned in by Friday, October 14th will not be allowed to try out.

  • Wrestling and Cross Country

Please see the information below for our next two sport programs getting under way - Wrestling and Cross Country.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Darin Arnold, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director

    Wrestling

Next Monday, September 19th, the Wrestling season begins!

All athletes interested in going out for Wrestling (Wrestling is CoEd) should plan to join us on Monday, September 19th in the Holmes Cafeteria from 4:00-5:15pm for an organizational meeting to get all of your wrestling questions answered and for some light workout.

At the meeting, students can get signed up, talk about sports fees, physicals (a medical physical is required before completing full contact workouts), and practice plans for the coming week. Students who attend the Monday practice and information session will be sent home with the details from the coaching staff.

We understand many interested wrestlers are currently in a sport, and cannot attend, or some may already have a schedule conflict. Missing Monday is not a requirement for participation and the information will also be posted on the Athletic Website.

Looking forward to seeing you on Monday!

    Cross Country

Tuesday, September 27th, the Cross Country season begins!

Coach Montana Gottman is currently working with the Coronado High School Cross Country team and is really excited to see a large turnout of Hawk Runners! Coach Gottman will hold a practice and information session on Tuesday, September 27th at 4:00 in the Holmes Courtyard. On Tuesday, students will learn when and where practices begin on campus, how to access the locker rooms, and other program specific details.

Students who attend the Tuesday practice will be sent home with the season's information. Interested runners who cannot make the Tuesday meeting should look for the information to also be posted on the Athletic Website after the Tuesday practice. Missing Tuesday is not a requirement for participation.

Because Cross Country is a D11 Hybrid, intramural sport, we ask families to also see the attached flyer to begin their sign-up.
