Mrs. Mary Durham
Mrs. Durham specializes in delivering innovative music instruction by integrating the Orff-Schulwerk approach with the study of vocal music. She holds three levels of specialization in Orff-Schulwerk along with 36 years of experience in the field. In 2010, she became one of six music teachers in the state of Colorado to become Nationally Board Certified.
This year, her classes will focus on the theme, “Transforming the Ordinary Into the Extraordinary Through Music”. Students will explore the many facets of Jazz Music mixed with a little magic. The music room is well equipped with Orff Instruments such as xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, as well as conga drums and other unpitched percussion instruments. Learning to sing and play instruments will be an on-going goal.

Listen to the soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices. Explore jobs that backstage technicians do during an opera. Listen for the instruments that play in the background.
