Ms. Keegan Hatley
Originally from Texas, I am an ecstatic alum of Texas Tech University! You will hear me come football season! My path to education was not straight and narrow for sure, but I am definitely where I was supposed to be all along! I graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology because I loved the field. During the semesters of school, I would substitute at the local school district and discovered how fun teaching could be. Therefore, I completed my post baccalaureate and a few extra hours to receive my certificate in teaching early childhood through 8thgrade and my master’s in elementary education. I taught for several years at the elementary level, then started my family. I am first and foremost a mother of 2 cool kiddos: Blythe and Emerson. Blythe is my sassy, “just like her mother when she was her age” kind of kiddo…she talks non-stop, and I love her to the moon. Then there is Emerson…he was diagnosed with Autism when he was 19-months old and is the reason I am in love with him and my job every day! After his diagnosis, I went back to Texas Tech and received my Autism certification, took additional tests, and became a special education teacher. Emerson guided me to a path I had no idea I wanted to travel and helped mold me into the successful person I am today! I was able to combine my love for psychology and teaching, and I can honestly say, “I love my job!”
