Tips for using my webpage
Assignments: To see daily assignments and lesson plans, scroll down to "Calendar" and look for listings for your class. The calendar is your primary means of keeping up with assignments, especially if you are out sick, on a field trip, or miss class for any other reason.
Support Documents: Most of the handouts I use in class will also be available on my webpage. Two ways to get them:
- Scroll down to the folder for your class below the calendar. Here you will find handouts that have lasting value beyond a certain day's lesson plan. Your class folder contains the most important support materials you will need.
- Each day's lesson plan and any handouts that are relevant only for that day will be linked to the calendar entry for that day.
Featured Poem: The Beautiful Changes
By Richard Wilbur
One wading a Fall meadow finds on all sides
The Queen Anne’s Lace lying like lilies
On water; it glides
So from the walker, it turns
Dry grass to a lake, as the slightest shade of you
Valleys my mind in fabulous blue Lucernes.
The beautiful changes as a forest is changed
By a chameleon’s tuning his skin to it;
As a mantis, arranged
On a green leaf, grows
Into it, makes the leaf leafier, and proves
Any greenness is deeper than anyone knows.
Your hands hold roses always in a way that says
They are not only yours; the beautiful changes
In such kind ways,
Wishing ever to sunder
Things and things’ selves for a second finding, to lose
For a moment all that it touches back to wonder.
