Ms. Beth Hembd

Welcome to the Mann choir and drama page! My name is Beth Hembd. This is my thirteenth year of teaching, but only my fourth year at Mann.

Teaching drama is a new opportunity this year. We will develop the fundmental skills of acting, stage crew, technical crew, and much more! We will put on a one act production at the end of the semester long drama class.

6th and 7th grade choir classes are semester long classes and 8th grade is a year long audition based honor choir.  6th and 7th grade choir classes have an end of the semester performance.  December 4 @6:30 p.m. and May 6 @ 6:30 p.m. both of these concerts are at Mann.  8th grade honor choir will perform mulitple times throughout the year, including the two concerts listed above.

I have always had a passion for music and teaching so, becoming a choir teacher was a very easy decision to make.  I was born and rasied in Iowa, and I ventured to Colorado for college. After college, I started my teaching career in Portland Oregon.  I taught K-12 during my first five years of my career. When my husband and I had our first child (we have two now)  we decided to move back to Colorado to be near my husband's faimly.  I love teaching, but when I am not teaching I am spending time with my family.  My husband and I write music together and perform from time to time.

I am excited to be a Mann Lancer and I look forward to meeting you all! Feel free to email me anytime at beth.hembd@d11.org

Thanks!
