Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Jennalee Mundie
Hello! My name is Ms. Jennalee and I am an Upper Elementary classroom teacher. I have been teaching 4th and 5th graders here at Buena Vista since 2017, but I actually began at BV as a parent in 2011. Over the years I slowly worked my way back into the classroom by volunteering, substituting, and tutoring at the school.
I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in English back in 2003. I then spent 7 years teaching in traditional schools. Once I accepted the classroom teaching position at Buena Vista, I earned my Elementary II (Upper Elementary) Montessori certification through the North American Montessori Center.
Montessori was a discovery for me as I explored preschool options for my own children. It was amazing to see that Dr. Maria Montessori had methods in place for a hundred years that traditional schools were only just starting to implement. Now, I work to blend my traditional background with those Montessori methods to better prepare 4th and 5th graders as they transition into Middle School and beyond.
When not at school, you can usually find me with my family. My husband, Bill, and I have two daughters; Kieran will be starting her freshman year in high school and Rowan will be in 7th grade for the 2020/2021 school year. We love to travel and explore new places. Reading, hiking/backpacking, and volleyball are also high on the list of my preferred activities.
