Ms. Deena Groshans

Welcome to my classroom page!

I am the kindergarten-5th grade science teacher at Jackson Elementary. I have taught at Jackson for 13 years as a 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher. The last 7 years I have had the opportunity to teach my favorite subject, science. My love of teaching began in college where I taught rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, rafting, and other outdoor adventure skills for the University of Nebraska. Upon graduation I took seasonal jobs traveling throughout the United States and Thailand teaching adventure skills and outdoor education. I settled in Idyllwild California for a few years teaching enviornmental and physical science with an emphasis on astronomy and space exploration. After having my beautiful daughter, Marlie I moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to family. Happily I was hired at Jackson Elementary!
