Hi! My name is Liz Blanco, and I teach fourth grade at Jackson Elementary. I have been teaching for 20 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I taught my first eleven years in Academy School District 20 and the past nine in Colorado Springs School District 11. The 2020-2021 school year marks my 8th year at Jackson Elementary!

I was born and raised in Newburgh, New York.  I attended college and received my teaching degree at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania.  After graduating from college and marrying my husband, I directed and taught a preschool in Pennsylvania for two years. Our family moved to Colorado Springs in October of 1997. Since moving to Colorado, I have taught fourth grade, fifth grade, kindergarten, and was a Math Interventionist.

My husband and I have two daughters who are both married. We do not currently have any pets, but we do have granddogs!  In my free time I like to exercise and lift weights at the gym.  I also enjoy hiking and biking our city's beautiful trails with my husband.  In the summers, my husband and I enjoy visiting the beaches and our families on the east coast.
