Ms. Teri Buchanan

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.  I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha (U.N.O.) and graduated with a teaching degree in 1987 and obtained my Graduate Degree in Exercise Science/Physical Education in 1995 from U.N.O. I taught for several years in the Omaha Public Schools and then in 2003 I moved to Colorado Springs and started teaching at Jenkins Middle School.  This is my 16th year teaching at Jenkins.

I enjoy doing many outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, river rafting, really anything that takes place in the outdoors.  My greatest passion is running! I enjoy running for  exercise, as well as relaxation, and I also like to compete in running events.   I have competed in running events in many distances from a 5K to 50 miles.  I  like to challenge myself to try new things and new distances.  Over the last 2 summers I hiked the Colorado Trail, which runs from Denver to Durango, covering almost 500 miles, mostly on backcountry trails.
