Bienvenidos a la clase de espanol!

My name is Sra. Lucero, and I am one of three Spanish teachers at Coronado High School.   I have been teaching Spanish, both middle school and high school, since 1989 (I student taught at Holmes in 1988!), and I am thrilled to be a member of the Coronado High School family!

I am a Colorado Springs native who loves to travel both out of the country (Mexico, Spain, Panama, etc.) and throughout our beautiful state...especially our gorgeous mountain towns.  My family is made up of my husband, my daughter (graduated from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO in May 2021), and our beloved pets.

The best way to get a hold of me is via email at lucersk@d11.org or susanne.lucero@d11.org.  I am so excited to spend the year with you/your student, and will always put 100% into making your/his/her learning experience the best it can possibly be.  In order to do this, among other things, I travel regularly to Mexico to take Spanish classes and to experience the culture.  Most of the time when I travel to Mexico, I take Spanish classes in order to stay as current and as sharp with my Spanish as I possibly can.

The main key to success in a second language classroom is being actively engaged, with a positive attitude, at all times.  This includes listening actively and participating daily in class.  It is also important to stay organized, review/study regularly, and complete/turn in all work on time.  Check out my calendar for all of your daily assignments.  Due dates will be included under the description.  Be sure to click on the appropriate class!

Gracias!

Sra. Lucero
