Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Jamie Anderson
Hello Cougar Community. I have been teaching since 1981 and am starting my second year at Coronado High School. I moved to Colorado two years ago after having worked for a small Christian college in Southern California, where I served as an adjunct English professor and head men's basketball coach. I started my career after graduating from Fresno Pacific University, long-renowned for its teacher preparation programs. I graduated top of my class in two departments after having worked for one of my English professors as his teaching assistant. I earned my bachelor's degree in English from Fresno Pacific and my master's degree in Education (with an emphasis on educational technology) from National University. I have worked at the junior high, high school and collegiate levels. I have also coached a number of sports, including basketball, baseball, football and tennis. My primary sport of interest has always been basketball. I was fortunate enough to have worked for some great coaches and for some great organizations. I coached at the junior high, high school and collegiate levels, having won championships at each level. I also worked for the Los Angeles Lakers, where I soaked up every bit of knowledge I could from Coach Jackson and Coach Winter.
As an English instructor I have taught all grade levels, been integrally involved in the implementation of technology within the educational setting. I was part of a pilot program in California that resulted in the program now referred to as English Common Core. I have been instrumental in helping three schools transition to 1-to-1 programs, which saw dramatic increases in student productivity as they became acclimated to the technology available to them.
