Nucleic acid sequence
Nucleotides
Nucleic acids consist of a chain of linked unites called necleotides. Each nucleotide consists of three subunits: a phosphate group and a sugar (ribose in hte case of RNA, deoxyribose in DNA) make up the backbone of the nucleic acid strand, and attached to the sugar is one of a set of nucleobases. Nucleotide handout for review.
Biological significance
In biological systems, nucleic acids (Wikipedia Page about Nucleic Acids) contain inofmration which is used by a living cell to construct specific proteins. The sequence of nucleobases on a nucleic acid strand is translated by cell machinery into a sequence of amino acids making up a protein strand.
The different nucleobases that make up DNA are
- Adenine
- Cytosine
- Guanine
- Thymine
My Class Notes
Make sure the links have titles
Dont say click here and dont put the URL as the link
Make the image descriptions detailed enought. Page about cats with lots of cat pictures. What is the difference between the cats. Dont use the same text for every image. Don't add unnecessary images if it doesn't go with the content.
Use the H1, H2, and Title styles. Don't just use font sizes. Use the F for our template and the T for Blackboard general ones.
Put captions unde the pictures
Alternate text needs to be 125-130 characters or less. Best Practices.
Check your color accessiblity on this site > http://accessible-colors.com.
Chrome VOX extenstion - to try out screen readers.
Use a checkist while creating content to make sure its accessible so you dont have to go back later and do it.
Hemingway text analyzer - will tell you what grade level your text is on
