Mrs. Christine Bedwell
Welcome to our school year 2020-2021. This has been an challenging year already but hopefully we will work our way through whatever is thrown at us. Stay safe!
I have taught for over forty years in grades K-8. I do not have a favorite age but adore working with students of all ages and adults. I love seeing their excitement as they add something new to their repertoire of knowledge. Being a retired military wife, I have taught in 8 different states including DODDS in Germany.
My husband, Richard, and I have been married for 45 years! He retired from the army and then worked for some other companies in Virginia and Colorado before he retired from the work force. The most interesting work was when he traveled to UAE for 6 weeks, home one week, and cycled through again. We have a 43 year old son named Richard, who now lives down the road from us on Black Forest and works at the Defense Intelligence Agency. He is a total computer nerd. Our daughter Crystal lives in northern Virginia with her husband Mike (another computer nerd) and their 2 daughters. Our adorable granddaughters are Julia, who is in 8th grade and Gabby is in 6th grade. Crystal works for Booze, Allen, Hamilton and is now working at the FBI offices. I am the only one in our family without an assortment of security clearances! When we are all together, the girls and I stay in the kitchen and the others go in the family room to talk!
It has been difficult not to have the opportunity to go see them because of the pandemic. We chat and email often! I get the opportunity to hear their complaints about not being at school and their mother's complaints about working and dealing with 2 girls at home. Mike, her husband works from home which helps and Crystal is part time at home and at her office. The girls also use Schoology as their main platform.
I am a life long learner and enjoy gaining new information about any topic. I will do my best to get your child ready for the next grade and independence.
