BOYS BASKETBALL: Last evening the A-Squad basketball team hosted Jenkins Middle School in a game that was well worth the price of admission. The 1st quarter of basketball gave a glimpse of what the game would showcase for 40 minutes. It provided great effort and excitement, with players diving for loose balls, clutch free throws being made, and blocked shots saving points from being scored. After the 1st quarter of play, the Hawks trailed by the score of 15-10. Quarter 2 didn't disappoint as the Hawks trailed by a 15 pt deficit halfway thru the quarter but the team got a 2nd wind thanks to some great hustle and big shots. The team headed into the locker room trailing by 7 pts, but the team seemed to be hitting their stride and changing the momentum of the game. In the 2nd half of the game, the Hawks limited the Jaguars to only 14 2nd half points while scoring 22 pts to give the team a thrilling 45-44 victory. The team demonstrated a will to win, the teamwork to succeed, and the effort to finish the game on top. All members of the team contributed to the victory and a huge shout out goes to the Squad. Great victory A-Squad and the team hopes to ride this momentum with 3 games next week.  Come support Hawk basketball and great job last night! Also, last night the boys B-Squad basketball team fell to the Jenkins Jaguars. Come to the game next Monday at Holmes as we take on the North Vikings. Coach W and Coach Kreidel
