    GIRLS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Your Holmes A-Squad girls basketball team wrapped up an awesome season on Saturday. The girls finished the season only losing to the City Champs. Saturday started with a hard fought battle with Russell. Once again, the Hawks were victorious, which placed them in the championship game against Jenkins. The Hawks fought hard, but fell short ending the season in 2nd place. Congrats to Libby, Josie, Astoria, Vianne, Aztin, Taya, Breckyn, Keilani, Kennah and Brooke on an amazing season. Your hard work and dedication paid off.  Congrats on a great season!

  • FRIDAY, APRIL 9TH:

    BOYS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Good morning Hawk Nation! Last evening the A-Squad boys basketball team hosted Sabin Middle School in their last home game of the season. The team played an exciting 1st half of basketball, limiting Sabin to six 1st half points while scoring 15 points, as the team controlled the tempo for the game, thanks to some great rebounding and aggressive defense. In the 2nd half, the Hawks were able to continue their edge on defense and score some clutch baskets in transtiion and half court sets to seal a 36-24 victory. The team was able to finish the regular season game with a 36-24 victory as the team had some momentum going into their final game of the season. Congratulations to the team and to the 8th graders who played their final game in the Hawk's Nest.  Great job A-Squad!

    GIRLS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Holmes A-Squad girls basketball got another win against North last night. Despite a slow start, Holmes upped their defense in the 2nd half to get the decisive win. Taya Robinson and Libby Gutowski husseled after every loose ball to lead the way. Holmes now heads into the tournament Saturday.  Good luck girls! Last night in the Hawk's Nest there was a barn burner of a B-Squad game. After being down by 5 at half-time, your Hawks battled back. With a minute left the lead went back and forth. After a last second shot swirled around the hoop and then bounced out, the Hawks lost by 1! Looking good on the boards were Hadley and Alycia.  Good luck the rest of the week! Finish strong!

    MONDAY, APRIL 5TH:

    GIRLS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: A-Squad girls basketball had an exciting weekend of basketball! Friday night, the girls beat a fast paced Russell team. Final score had Holmes up by 1 for an exciting win. Saturday, Holmes faced West and came up with a decisive win. Great job girls! Congratulations to your B-Squad girls basketball team. They won both of their games this weekend! Friday night in the Hawk's Nest they defeated the Russell Raiders. High scorers were Zoe Cole and Mariska Makin. On Saturday morning against our rivals from West, the team came out on top. High scorers were Hadley Lefere and Shyanne Brown. Good luck tomorrow against North!

    BOYS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Good morning Hawk Nation! The A-Squad basketball team hosted West Middle School on Saturday and played a tremendous game from start to finish! The team demonstrated great effort on both ends of the court and had 8 players record points in the contest as the team was able to record a victory by the score of 54 to 10! Lyrik Smith led all scorers with 16 points and Levi Brown chipped in 8 big points. The team travels to North Middle School on Tuesday for a tough game.  Great job on Saturday A-Squad!

    GIRLS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Holmes A-Squad girls basketball lost a hard fought game last night against a fast paced Jenkins. Astoria Spradlin led Holmes with her stellar defense. Brooke Ridgeway led all scoring which included a pair of 3's. Holmes now faces Russell on Friday. Go Hawks!

    BOYS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: Good morning Hawks! Last evening the boys A-Squad basketball team hosted Jenkins Middle School for their 1st home game of the season. The team played hard and competed against the Jaguars for the first 20 minutes of the game, but went into halftime trailing by a score of 19 to 5. After regrouping, the Hawks offense started to click and their defense created some turnovers, which resulted in some athletic baskets and possessions on offense. The Hawks were able to cut the deficit to almost single digits during the 2nd half but came up short in the contest. The final score was 41 to 25. The Hawks did have 9 players score in the game and Lyrik Smith led all scorers with 8 points. The team looks forward to their next game on Saturday against West Middle School and hopes to build on some of the positives from the game. Good effort last night A-Squad!

  • FRIDAY, MARCH 19TH: 

    BOYS BASKETBALL GAME NEWS: The A-Squad basketball team kicked off their basketball season against Russell Middle School on the road last evening. The team displayed some outstanding effort on both ends of the court in the 1st half but went into the locker room trailing due to some hot shooting by the Raiders. The Hawks continued to hustle and make some athletic plays on offense and defense but came up short in the game. Lead scorers for the game were Jayden Jarboe and Michael Wojtalewicz with 6 points and Logan Gutches chipped in 5 points. The team will play their next game after Spring Break. Good effort last night A-Squad. The B-Squad played the Russell Raiders yesterday in a fiercely contested game. Even though the Hawks didn't win the game, the team played with intensity, grit and with a never quit attitude.  Great job Hawks!

    VOLLEYBALL GAME NEWS: Congratulations to your A-Squad volleyball team for defeating Galileo last night in a barn burner. With the Hawks down 24-17, Josie McKinney stepped up to serve. She served nine straight points in a row for the victory in Game One! In Game 2, the match went back and forth. Holmes was down 14-16 when McKenzie Doolittle stepped up and served 4 straight points! And then, closing out the match, Lilly Lunday served 4 points for the win! Also, congrats Holmes B-Squad for your win over Galileo last night. Marley McAllister was on fire serving, while Marissa Picard had pass after pass. Holmes faces North on Thursday. Go Hawks!

    NEW ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE: We will be having an attendance incentive for perfect attendance starting March 10th through April 2nd. We will have 3 drawings on each Monday with one winner from every grade, every week.  Winners will receive a Holmes Spirit Wear t-shirt hoodie!
