Dear Holmes Parents and Guardians,
Due to the early impact of school cancellations, District 11 leadership has requested that each school adjust schedules for the remainder of the year. This is needed to ensure all schools have five extra days available above the state minimum in the event we have a heavy winter.
After reviewing a series of possible options, we believe the least disruptive solution is to add five minutes at the end of the school day for the remainder of the year. Five additional minutes from December 2nd to May 22nd will place us just above the district’s minimum expectation (this, unfortunately, does not include the snow day on 11.22.19).
Beginning Monday, 12-2-19, the bell schedule will be changed and reflect a school day from 08:45 to 15:50 instead of 08:45 to 15:45.
