WELCOME TO THE COUGAR BAND FAMILY

The Coronado Bands are comprised of two concert bands, two jazz bands, our new percussion ensemble, and our Cougar PRIDE Of The West Side Pep Band.  We strive to create a challenging performing environment through passion, perseverance, positive attitudes, and fostering pride in everything we do.  We encourage excellence through high expectations, hard work, compassion, and support for ALL students.  

The Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble consistently receive Superior Ratings at Colorado Bandmasters Association and Colorado High School Activities Association Regional and State Festivals.  The Wind Ensemble and Advanced Jazz Bands have been selected to perform at the Colorado Music Educator's Association Conference and the bands have also traveled to Anaheim, Orlando, Washington DC, and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in recent years.  

Along with our curricular ensembles, students can also participate in both co-curricular and extracurricular ensembles. The Cougar Pep Band supports numerous school sporting events and participates in Colorado Springs' only High School sponsored Homecoming parade held each fall in the historic Old Colorado City, as well as other community events.  The Spring musical Pit Orchestra performs several shows bi-annually, and the Chamber Ensembles participate in both school concerts and area festivals.  Consult the Coronado High School course guide for additional music and instrumental courses.
