Sabin MS Re-designing Spaces
Students in Mrs. Forget's Youth Ventures class use design thinking to re-imagine lunch time. From empathy building to prototypes, students use input from students and staff to work together and come up with solutions as they collaborate with Chef Nate, our D11 Master Chef.

Orchestra Collaborates Makes Beautiful Music
Students in Mrs. Canuel's orchestra class collaborated with students in a general music class in Phoenix, creating an original composition in GarageBand. This is a great way to leverage technology in music classes!! AWESOME!

Students in Mr. Tunney's social studies class created travel commercials to learn about their South American Countries.

Hooked on Challenge Based Learning
After participating in Verizon's Engineering Challenge at Sabin Middle School, students in Ms. London's 6th grade math class were hooked! Responding to their enthusiastic requests, students were challenged to engineer a bucket tower.

Creating iMovies to demonstrate learning of the Constitution
Eighth graders in Colorado Springs use iMovie to demonstrate their learning of the goals and principles of the United States Constitution. Facilitated by Mr. Butler and Mr. White, students curated pictures, recorded narration, and created background music for one principle which they shared with the class. These innovative teachers believe that this is just the beginning as we bring powerful learning to Sabin, where students create and use technology tools to work together.

Gifted and Talented Physics Olympics
Students in our Gifted and Talented Magnet Program participate in an annual Physics Olympics, held by Mr. Smith. Students learn about and apply physics concepts, culminating in building a boat out of cardboard that they race in Mitchell High School's swimming pool. #powerful learning

Learning Math at Your Own Pace
Self-paced math is a concept teachers at Sabin Middle School are now using. It consists of students teaching themselves and their peers while teachers work with individual students in areas where more help and clarification are needed.

Lit Wits at Sabin
Lit Wits is about a field trip to the 21c Library to here from famous author, E. Lockhart. It was taken by the GMP girls of all ages. We got to ask questions and could have gotten a signed copy.

GTT Connects with U of Alabama
Students in Mrs. Torrez' GTT class connect virtually with engineering students to discuss their current project as well as to discuss college life and STEM careers.
