• Adult and Family Education offers a variety of classes to help students learn more about the local job market and provide skills to help students transition from having a job to starting a career.

Career Exploration Class

  • Many businesses in growing industries in the Pikes Peak region do not have enough trained workers to fill their jobs. 

    In this class, students will learn about in-demand careers in Colorado Springs and the local area in:

    • Manufacturing
    • Healthcare
    • Information Technology
    • Construction industries.

    Students will assess personal values, interests, and skills in order to evaluate potential career choices. Students will be given the tools to access and explore job-specific outlooks and career ladders and opportunities to gain the skills and training to get a good job.

ESL for Career Awareness: Burlington English Lab Class

  • ESL students level 4-6 practice their English through the context of career awareness and job readiness.  Most lesson and exercises are completed through self-paced on-line lessons. Students will:

    • Explore different kinds of jobs
    • set career goals
    • prepare for job interviews
    • learn skills to be successful on the job. 

    Assistance is provided to students to investigate job outlooks and create resumes.
