Mr. David Dubois

Dear Russell Community:

This being my first year as a principal of Russell Middle School, I am honored, humbled, and excited to be part of such an outstanding school and community.

This past year Russell earned for a record fourth time, the Colorado Trailblazer Schools to Watch Award. We owe this prestigious award to our teachers, staff, students, and parents. Without the continued support of our stakeholders, our achievements would not be possible.

What makes Russell truly unique is the combination of performing arts and sciences. Russell offers a full time orchestra teacher, choir, dance, and a Julliard trained band teacher. In addition to the arts, we also offer Project Lead the Way classes ranging from computer science for sixth graders to robotics classes for our eighth graders. We believe that the combination of our performing arts, PLTW classes, and solid core classes promotes lifelong learning that will be better prepare our students for their future.

While our top priority remains student achievement, we also support the development of soft skills through our Raider Time advisory. During this advisory, students will learn a number of skills including but not limited to: conflict resolution, organizational and study skills, grit, critical analysis, and teamwork. Our goal is to ensure all of our students are prepared for high school academically and socially.

We believe that that the combination of performing arts, sciences, along with rigorous instruction within our core classes, will not only prepare our students for high school and their future, but will also create productive citizens that will contribute to society.

In closing, I want to reiterate how proud I am to be a part of Russell Middle School, our community, and I look forward to a great year.

David DuBois
