ESL for Information Technology

  • Course Description: Non-native English speakers interested in pursuing a career in working with computers will expand their job-related vocabulary and conversations including equipment and network problems and giving technical support.

    Students will practice reading and writing assignments for computer issues and employment responsibilities such as program languages, software applications, and operating systems.  This class is recommended to help second language speakers prepare for the A+ Certification class.

Computer

Intro to IT Careers

  • Course Description: This class will prepare students to enroll in the Information Technology Career Pathways program to become credentialed in Comp TIA A+.  Students must have high intermediate to advanced level reading and math skills. 

    The class will cover:

    • Career Awareness
    • Workplace Prep
    • Contextualized IT basic skills
    • Include an introduction to basic computer hardware, software, and applications.
