Contracted Car Service

Stop information for the new school year can be found HERE.  Areas indicated by “Contract Zone” in the stop description will be serviced by cars.

Yes.  All drivers contracted through D11 are required to pass a background check.

Change of stop assignments are not allowed for personal preferences such as, but not limited to, the proximity of the stop to your residence, your ability to see your child at the stop, the fact that the vehicle goes past your house to get to the stop, the lack of sidewalks, that it is dark outside, or to get to your residence sooner/later.  It is parent/guardian responsibility to ensure the safety of your children while walking to and from the stop, and while waiting at the stop.

You cannot request a contracted car in lieu of a school bus.  Transportation will determine which students will be placed with contractors based on operational efficiencies.  This mode of transportation is significantly more expensive but helps get all eligible students to school in a timelier manner.

No.  Due to the cost associated with the car service, only transportation eligible students will be placed in contracted cars.

Contracted car service stops are designed to take the pressure off regular bus routes.  Stops are located to service eligible students in the area that could apply to ride in the car in the future.

For most rides, the driver will be the same, but there is no guarantee.  Substitute drivers are common, even with school buses.

Most rides need to be canceled 8 hours before the ride is to take place.  Some vendors will provide an app that will allow you to easily cancel rides when not needed.  Your help saves tax dollars that can be used for other programs.
