Chipeta Elementary School
Self-directed learners, collaborating, taking risks, and problem-solving to change our world.
Each child’s experience at Chipeta Elementary is grounded in relationships and community.
Our students engage actively and joyfully in learning. They apply their learning in relevant, authentic, and
developmentally appropriate ways. Chipeta promotes rigorous learning where students are supported to develop
social skills, independence, and to explore our world with curiosity.
Chipeta is a recipient of the Governor's Bright Spot Award for their state math scores!
Chipeta is a community united to ensure that all learners grow and thrive. At our school:
- Learning is personalized
- Learners ask and answer questions in a safe and supportive environment
- Strong partnerships and family involvement enhance learning
Gifted & Talented Program
In a traditional school setting, Chipeta uniquely provides high level and challenging classroom instruction and learning opportunities for gifted learners. Students learn in their area of Gifted Identification daily for the duration of the learning block.
For example, a student identified in math receives 60 minutes of math instruction from a Gifted Resource Teacher. Our students learn with their gifted peers and learn throughout each day in a heterogeneous classroom. This model allows our students to thrive.
