Stratton Elementary School
Stratton Elementary is a diverse learning community focused on developing lifelong learners through collaboration, innovation, and fun. Stratton is home to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program for pre-k through fifth grade and is also home to the Gifted Magnet Program for qualifying third through fifth grade students. At Stratton, students explore creative problem solving and imagine solutions through personalized learning experiences that develop the whole child. Our students are inspired to believe in themselves and to envision their dreams for the future.
Gifted Magnet Program
The elementary Gifted Magnet Program (GMP) has been an integral part of School District 11 for nearly sixty years. The GMP is a full-day, every-day self-contained program for gifted students in grades three through five. The program’s philosophy focuses on educating the gifted child through comprehensive curriculum centered on year-long themes. We instruct gifted children using the Autonomous Learner Model of experiential learning and by using a wide variety of exploratory lessons and activities.
