TitleVI

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Office of Indian Education is to support the efforts of local educational agencies, Indian tribes and organizations, postsecondary institutions, and other entities to meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indians and Alaskan Natives, so that these students can achieve the same challenging state standards as all students.

Under Title VI grant guidelines, the community liaison is another resource that monitors, mentors and assists the Native American/Alaskan Native population of students to ensure success and stability during and beyond their educational years.  As long as the child is showing more than adequate growth academically, socially and emotionally, there is no interference.  Struggling students are regularly tracked, and liaisons work diligently with teachers, faculty, families, and the community to get them back on track and college or career ready.
