Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE)
WHAT IS CLDE?
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) supports students whose primary language is not English and whose cultural or linguistic backgrounds differ from the dominant culture. In Colorado Springs School District 11, we are committed to ensuring every student has equitable access to a high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive.
Our English Language Development (ELD) program provides rigorous, engaging instruction that helps multilingual learners strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while building the academic language needed for success in every classroom. Through personalized support, students develop English proficiency, achieve grade-level academic standards, and prepare for success in college, careers, and beyond.
District 11 proudly serves students and families representing more than 52 languages, celebrating the rich diversity that strengthens our schools. By partnering with families and embracing every student's unique cultural and linguistic strengths, CLDE empowers learners to participate confidently, achieve their goals, and contribute to our vibrant school community.
