What is the Future Ready class?
Future Ready is a Tier 1 support for every student in grades 6–12, designed to ensure all students have consistent opportunities to explore who they are, discover future possibilities, and build a meaningful plan for life after high school. Through developmentally appropriate lessons and experiences, students build the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about high school, college, career, and other postsecondary pathways while connecting their interests and goals to the opportunities available to them. Our 6–12 Future Ready Scope and Sequence, available below, provides families with a clear view of what students will learn and experience at each grade level as they move from early exploration to a confident, actionable plan for their future.

9th grade:
Middle School
In middle school students will begin future ready through the exploration of their interests, through smart goals and researching possibilities. Students will learn how to put those plans into action in high school and beyond, providing them a concrete way to move towards their goals. Future ready also helps students in the transition from middle school into high school with course selection and readiness checks.
High School
Future Ready in high school aims to ensure every student graduates with a plan and the skills to follow it. Students will set and track SMART goals, explore and take action on postsecondary pathways—including college, career, military, trades, internships, and apprenticeships—and connect to opportunities such as Career & Technical Education (CTE), industry certifications, concurrent enrollment, and work-based learning. Students will also receive support with resume development, interview skills, postsecondary applications, scholarships, and FAFSA/CASFA to help them prepare for their next steps after high school.
