Pathways to Preschool Next School Year 2025/2026
- My child will be 3 or 4 years old and a RETURNING District 11 preschool student

- My preschool child has a family member that is EMPLOYED BY DISTRICT 11
- My preschool child has a SIBLING that is enrolled in a District 11 school

My child will be 3 or 4 years old and a RETURNING District 11 preschool student
The instructions below are only for RETURNING District 11 preschool students who want to apply for the next school year, 2025/2026. There are different instructions for 3—and 4-year-olds; please make sure to read them thoroughly.
*Returning students are students who attended a District 11 preschool during the 2024/2025 school year.
Step 1
- ONLY complete if
- Your child will be 4 years old on or by October 1, 2025
- OR your child will be 3 years old and HAS an active IEP
*If your child will be 3 years old on or by October 1, 2025 without an IEP, DO NOT COMPLETE A UNIVERSAL PRESCHOOL APPLICATION (it will tell you that you don't qualify). Continue to Step 2.
Complete a 2025/2026 Universal Preschool Application

*This will take you to the state's Universal Preschool website which lists every UPK provider in Colorado. Please make sure you are selecting D11 schools if you would like to be placed in a District 11 preschool program.
When filling out your Universal Preschool application, make sure to:
- Select that your child is currently enrolled.
Step 2
3-Year-Old Families
All children returning who are 3 years old on or before October 1, 2025, will be placed in our Part-Time (AM) preschool programs. Our Part-Time (AM) preschool program will be in the morning Tuesday through Friday, consisting of 10 hours of preschool a week.
If you completed your Universal Preschool application between December 17, 2024 and February 3, 2025 your application will go into our first round of continuity of care matches. You will receive notifications from Universal Preschool to accept your match between February 12-21, 2025. 3-year-old preschoolers will be placed in the Universal Preschool system as "Early Childhood Education School District 11".
For families who complete their Universal Preschool application after February 3, 2025, your application will be matched to District 11 and then you will be sent a notification to accept your match. Please reach out to our Early Childhood Department with any questions!
Step 2
4-Year-Old Families
If you completed your Universal Preschool application between December 17, 2024, and February 3, 202,5 your application will go into our first round of continuity of care matches. You will receive notifications from Universal Preschool to accept your match between February 12-21, 2025.
General matches will begin on February 24, 2025, with the second round happening on March 24, 2025. Our Early Childhood Department will contact families via email or phone during the matching process. Families will have one week to accept or decline the placement offered.
After the two rounds of general matching, Universal Preschool preschool applications will go into direct enrollment.

Wait for your child's placement!
We will begin placing 3-year-old preschoolers starting in mid-July 2025 and will continue to place 3-year-olds through the entire 2025/2026 school year. When we have a 3-year-old seat available for your child, we will contact you.
Your child will be placed on our 3-year-old waitlist for the school you indicated on your District 11 Registration. If you don't indicate a school choice, you will be placed on your neighborhood school or school closest to your address.

Nos pondremos en contacto con usted cuando tengamos un asiento disponible.
Universal Preschool llevará a cabo la primera ronda de emparejamientos generales el 24 de febrero de 2025, y la segunda ronda tendrá lugar el 24 de marzo de 2025. Nuestro Departamento de Primera Infancia se comunicará con las familias por correo electrónico o teléfono durante el proceso de emparejamiento. Las familias tendrán una semana para aceptar o rechazar la ubicación ofrecida.
Después de las dos rondas de emparejamiento general, las solicitudes de preescolar de Universal Preschool pasarán a inscripción directa. Durante la inscripción directa, las solicitudes se colocan en estado de lista de espera; si tenemos un lugar para su hijo, nos comunicaremos con usted.

Paso 1
Completar la inscripción preescolar del Distrito 11 2025/26

Para completar nuestro Registro del Distrito 11, deberá cargar el certificado de nacimiento de su hijo, los registros de vacunación, el comprobante de domicilio y una identificación con fotografía de los padres, así que tenga esto listo cuando complete el registro.
* Los niños que cumplirán 3 años el 1 de octubre de 2025 o antes, y NO tienen un IEP activo, no están obligados a completar una solicitud de preescolar universal para el año escolar 2025/2026. Continúe con el Paso 2.

Paso 2
¡Espere la colocación de su hijo!
Comenzaremos a colocar niños en edad preescolar de 3 años a partir de mediados de julio de 2025 y continuaremos colocando niños de 3 años durante todo el año escolar 2025/2026. Cuando tengamos un asiento de 3 años disponible para su hijo, nos comunicaremos con usted.
Su hijo será colocado en nuestra lista de espera de 3 años para la escuela que indicó en su registro del Distrito 11. Si no indica una opción de escuela, será ubicado en la escuela de su vecindario o en la escuela más cercana a su dirección.
