District 11's own Future Educator Pathway program provides students with the opportunity to learn more about the teaching profession through various courses like Child & Adolescent Development, Life Management Interpersonal Relationships, Early Childhood Education 1011, 1031, 1045 and Teacher Cadet. Internships and job shadows are embedded into college-level courses. Milo Hancock, Odyssey ECCO sophomore, is enrolled in the Teacher Cadet class. His is currently interning in a 3rd grade classroom at Audubon Elementary school. His mentor teacher is Ms. Brooker. Today he taught a lesson on ratios and algebraic patterns. He did a fantastic job standing in front of the class, modeling and guiding students along the way through direct instruction and questioning to meet the lesson objective.
