  • Why Project Based Learning?

    Project Based Learning (PBL) is an  instructional approach that  focuses on inquiry. Given an essential question, students work collaboratively on projects to address issues specific to our community.  


    Here is a great example about Penrose PBL Projects.  Our Kindergartners identified a real world problem, with kids not having enough warm clothes on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.  They spent weeks learning about what kindness and caring really are, then decided to gather up gloves, hats, and coats to donate to those students in need.  Check out the FOX21 news story about it below!

  • Harvest of Love Food Drive Oct 29th - Nov 16th
    The Penrose Student Council will be hosting the the Harvest of Love Food Drive starting October 29th.  Please help support the Colorado Springs community and Care & Share Food Bank by donating non-perishable food items for the holidays through November 16th!

  • Original Works Art - Order through Nov 12
    Mrs. Swayne, our art teacher, has been working hard to help our students make some amazing art work this year!  By working hand-in-hand with Original Works, now your child's artwork can be made into an incredible holiday gift!  Order your keepsakes before November 12th, and it will guarantee delivery before Christmas and a portion of each item sold will be donated back to the Penrose Art program!
