  • Kimberley Kincaid

Mrs. Kincaid is honored to serve with the Coronado High School team as the Director of Bands.  After traveling the world with her husband David, a pilot with the U.S. Air Force, Mrs. Kincaid is excited to now call Colorado Springs her forever home.  She has taught in 6 states and at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, Japan.  Her experience includes teaching at all levels K-12 in General Music, Orchestra, Choir, Guitar, and her true passion--Band.

Mrs. Kincaid's middle and high school bands have earned consistent top ratings and produced numerous All-State and Honor Band students.  Prior to directing the Coronado Bands, she served as the Director Bands at Mann Middle School, where they were recognized as an "Outstanding Band Program" by the Holland's Opus Foundation.  She also coordinated the D11 MS Honor Band and served on the Board of Directors of the Pikes Peak Music Educators Association.

Originally from Florida, Mrs. Kincaid received her Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education with an additional certificate in Music for the Student with Special Needs and a Master's Degree in Music Education specializing in Instrumental Conducting, both from Florida State University.  She studied clarinet with Frank Kowalski and performed in ensembles and studied with James Croft, Bentley Shellahamer, Patrick Dunnigan, Clifford Madsen, and Housewright Scholars: Frederick Fennell and Donald Hunsberger.  She was also the Graduate Assistant for the University Symphonic and Concert Bands, as well as, the "World Renowned" Marching Chiefs.

Mrs. Kincaid's professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, Colorado Music Educator's Association, the Colorado Bandmasters Association, and the Tau Beta Sigma National Band Fraternity.  She is also honored to be a 2023 inductee into the American School Band Director's Associaiton.

When not working with her amazing band students, she loves watching college football (GO NOLES!), reading, and most importantly spending time with family.  In addition to her husband David, she has two amazing daughters, and one furry child named Ziggy.  Her daughter Claire is a Mechanical and Mining Engineer in Denver and Caitlin is a Senior at Colby College, Maine.  Mrs. Kincaid also performs with the Pikes Peak Wind Ensemble and is constantly working to refine her craft as a musician and a teacher.
