Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Chad Hartinger, and this is my first year teaching Physical Education at Midland Elementary. For the previous 5 years I taught 5th grade at Queen Palmer Elementary. I have been coaching high school football for the last 4 years, and have a total of 8 years coaching football altogether. Currently, I am the Defensive Coordinator at Manitou Springs High School.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, and I am a product of District 11. I went to Audubon Elementary, Mann Middle School, and Wasson High School. After high school, I got accepted and headed up north to Colorado State University in Fort Collins. GO RAMS!!!! I graduated from Colorado State University with a Human Development and Family Studies degree in 2009.
The reason I became an educator, and specifically in P.E. is my love for sports and family. I grew up playing lots of sports such as football, basketball, baseball, tennis, and golf just to name a few. I have always had a passion for sports and athletics. Also, my parents were both teachers in District 11. My father taught high school P.E. for 30 years and coached during his time as an educator. He helped inspire me to get into education and to become a coach.
Now, a little bit about my personal life. I am married, and my wife and have 2 dogs. One Saint Bernard named Ranger, and one Bichon Maltese named Teddy. I am all about football, all the time. From August through February on the weekends, you can find me either coaching, or watching football. I never miss a CSU Rams game, or Denver Broncos game. Once football season is over I am on the golf course as much as possible.
I am extremely excited for this school year, and look forward to working with the students and staff at Midland.
