Welcome to Buena Vista's Band
Welcome to Buena Vista's Band. Students will learn the basics of how to play an instrument found in the band ensemble. Second year students may choose to learn a new instrument or continue to learn more on their current instrument. Instruments learned in band consist of Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.
Essential Elements Book Lessons and Practice
For Home Practice, use the serial number on your Essential Elements book for your instrument to access your online resource kit! Every song in your book is located online and you can play along with it to make sure you are playing whats on the page. There are also others songs here that are not in the book that you can learn. Go to the Essential Elements website, enter the serial number or ISBN of your book and follow directions to learn and play along with the songs.

Solo and Ensemble
Congratulations to all our Buena Vista Solo and Ensemble Participants for receiving I and II at our D11 Elementary Solo and Ensemble Contest. Great Work!
Google Drive Access for Music and Resources
If something has happened to your music and you do not have it, please access your google drive. Your music and other important documents are located in your shared Band folder. Please show your parents how they can access this information as well.
Have a great week, can't wait to hear you play when we come back!

Student Practice Logs: Every month students will receive a new practice log to write down their assigned homework in class to practice at home. Students record their practice minutes at home (30 minutes every day is a good practice), and have their parents sign off on their work. Students turn in their practice log every first class period of the week for a grade (Mon, or Tue if we have Mon off). Student focused goals for the month are created at the bottom of the practice log to work on. This can also serve as communication between parents and teacher. If you have a question or need support, write it on the practice log or shoot me an email.
